About Me
Who is bobis and where it all began
I've loved nature since I was a child. Forests, parks, castles, ruins, quiet places with history and atmosphere—all of these belonged to me long before I started calling myself a hiker. Paradoxically, it was technology that finally kicked me into real movement, hiking, and regular walking.
Specifically, the iPhone and Apple Watch. It might sound strange, but thanks to them, ordinary walks became a journey. The iPhone opened my eyes to how powerfully photography and video can capture the emotion, the moment, and the beauty of a place. The Apple Watch showed me that movement doesn't have to be a chore, but a game—closing rings, collecting medals, and small daily challenges.
From footsteps to photos and videos
Šumava as a turning point
One of the first places where I fully realized all of this was Šumava. Perfect for long hikes and testing endurance, but above all, completely breathtaking in its beauty. Šumava isn't just a forest. It’s diverse, wild, quiet, and open all at the same time.
Gradually, it became my true passion. Not just one specific spot, but the whole area. A space where I return to slow down, clear my thoughts, and where a large part of my work is created. I feel the same way about Brdy—formerly a military area, now open to the public.
From private Instagram to bobiscze
At first, I kept the photos to myself. Occasionally, something ended up in stories on my private Instagram for a few dozen people. Yes, gaming was also a part of my life. Pokémon Go once taught me to walk miles, and online games brought friendships that last to this day.
The turning point came in 2024. Friends told me it made sense to share it. Eventually, I gave it a try. Followers grew slowly, but the reach was significantly higher, and that was the signal that someone was interested. bobiscze was born.
The blog as a storytelling space
Instagram has its limits—it's about speed and brevity. But I felt the need to tell more. Not to be a writer, but to have a place where I can breathe. That’s also why there’s a translator on the blog, so anyone can read it.
Technology without the bubble
I don't lock myself into one brand. I also follow Huawei, which doesn't have it easy in the Western world. Yet it grows, especially in China, and I consider their HarmonyOS a great system. You can see the inspiration from Apple, but that just confirms to me that Apple works.
The Apple ecosystem reminds me of a forest. Trees are connected by roots and fungi; they have their own "underground internet." We don't see it, but it works. In the same way, devices communicate with each other. Technology isn't at the level of nature yet, but the inspiration is obvious.
I'm just a normal guy
Sometimes I just like to sit on the couch, turn on Netflix, and get lost in series like Stranger Things, Sabrina, or Lucifer. Other times I watch documentaries, travelogues, or teach myself how to write HTML code and build websites. I don't like obstacles. I'd rather break them. What I don't know, I can learn.
The people who stayed
Many people have appeared on this journey. Some walked part of the way with me, others gradually moved away. Not because anything was wrong between us, but because life took us elsewhere.
But there are two people who have stayed close to me even today. @veramelodica, whom you can find on Instagram under the same name, and Michaela Hudeců, who creates on her blog hodnotazivota.blogspot.com and can be found on Instagram as @michaelamikorka.
It's nice to see that some people carry their creativity forward at their own pace and in their own direction. And even though we aren't all in daily contact, these two people are proof to me that some connections have deeper roots.
Special thanks
Finally, I want to thank a very close person who has supported me long-term, often accompanies me, and helps me get to places that would otherwise be difficult for me to reach. I immensely appreciate this support.
Thank you for making it this far 🤍
